The director’s chair: residency and how to get it

Friday 18 November, 1210-1220

Intuitively a pharmacy residency program makes sense and provides an opportunity to equip early carer pharmacists with the skills and knowledge to provide the highest quality professional care and progress their careers. Initially existing posts will be re-badged as resident posts, with the view that true fixed term contract positions will be created with natural attrition of existing posts. Initial set up costs are expected to be minimal, although additional resourcing for training and oversight may be required. Changes are required to existing department operations to align with the residency structure. Planning discussions have resulted in high level of engagement and motivation of existing staff.
